Moving Elements GIF

Moving Element 1-Opening of Top Floor

I decided to incorporate an opening top floor roof, as it represents the opening up to nature and the motif of opening up to each other allowing for a development of interconnectedness between people. It also represents a flower blooming. This moving feature provides also provides a practical use too as it  for fresh air and ventilation to pass through the building while also serving as an interesting study/ leisure location.

Moving Element 2-Expandable Gallery

I decided to include an expanding bridge/tunnel between buildings, the original corridor between building was designed to be a gallery space, however it was too small. Therefore, to maximise space and efficiency while also giving potential for further future uses, I made the bridge expandable linearly allowing for an immediate increase in space.

Theory-Open, Nature, Balance, Environmentally Sound

When constructing a contempary building especially within a university it is important to convey and reflect a sense of openess and unity, wherein a balance between nature and man-made is also essential to create an environmentally sound building that everyone can enjoy and interact within. It is also crucial to allow for expansion and the infinite potential to repurpose, thus outlasting generations of students to come.
